The
EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism Conference is the leading professional event on
EuroVelo, cycling tourism and
cycle route networks. Co-organised by the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF) and a host city/region, the conference brings together route managers, public bodies, civil society organisations, tourism actors and many more around a different topic.
ECF and a strong local partnership –
Utrecht & Partners,
the Province of Utrecht,
the City of Utrecht and Royal Jaarbeurs – are working on building an interesting programme. This year's main theme – ‘
At the beating heart of cycling’ – has three subthemes:
- Multi-purpose cycle route networks
- Stronger together: collaborations in cycling tourism
- Innovation for more and better cycling (tourism)
The main theme highlights the
central role of cycling in the Netherlands and wishes to explore cycling and cycling tourism from multiple angles, including the interaction between different types of cycling, the importance of working together to develop cycling as a whole, and looks to digital innovation. As we approach 30 years of EuroVelo, the Conference will also be a moment to reflect on this milestone and look to the future.
