25.04.2002Cycling weekends in Budapest with Hungarian volunteer hobby-cyclists
Arranger:
Foundation for Railway Transport in Rakoskert
Date: continuously from 24 May until late October.
Participants: no more than 12 cyclists in one group, from all over Europe.
Bicycle: you can use your own cycle; or hire from us a SAX trek (12 Euro/day/Person)
Accommodation: Rakoskert Cycle Centre and Hostel (No smoking!) (8-12 Euro/Person/night - depend on one or two bedded room or more)
Breakfast: self-service from the kitchen refrigerator (~2 Euro)
Lunch: during the tour (buffet)
Dinner: open air gulash party or eating in a restaurant
Opportunities: two days guided tour in and around Budapest; and than self-guided as you like it. We give you maps, information and help to arrange accommodation on other parts of Hungary. However, it will be best pleasure for us if you could prefer to stay in our Hostel for more days.

Guided program only at weekends:
Friday (arriving): We will meet you at the Keleti Railways station at your arriving train and guide you to the Hostel. Easy tour in the suburb (20-40 km). Evening: Gulash party
Saturday: Cycling in the cycle routes of Budapest. Sightseeing. (Castle, Museums, Monuments, Banks of Danube, Parliament) 70 km.
Sunday: Cycling around Budapest – Danube bend Szentendre-Visegrád-Nagymaros-Vác; - Fót - Gödöllő (Habsburg Castle) 80 km.
Further days: And than you are an experienced cyclist to go anywhere in Hungary. We give you everything to a self-guided tour (National parks, Balaton, Tisza-lake, historical heritage, mountains..) Bike hire for self guided tour: 8 Euro/day and 80 Euro deposit.
