On a wonderful summer's day hundreds of enthusiastic cyclists gather at the train station in Lienz in order to catch the specially adapted train in the direction of Sillian together with their bicycles. Beforehey have cycled along the Drau through the Pustertal in East Tyrol and have looked at the wonderful scenery and the many sights.
The Drau valley in the direction of Carinthia and the Isel valley towards Matrei can also be recommended for cyclists.
Ambitious sport cyclists will find optimal conditions on the Pustertaler Höhenstraße (route of the Giro d'Italia 1994 and Giro del Trentino 1997) or on the Klamml-Joch (mountain bike route in Defereggental). The offers for sport cyclists is continually being perfected.
