Thuringia is already well-known for hiking, but also some 1700 kilometres of long-distance cycle routes pass through the holiday destination in the middle of Germany. In the newly published cycle touring map of the Thuringian Tourism Ltd, 13 long-distance cycle paths are introduced. In addition to the Saale, the Werra Valley or the Rennsteig cycle routes there is now also information on the Rhoen, the Unstrut and the Thuringia Town Chain cycle paths. All cycle routes are listed with elevation profile, total length and exact start and finish points within Thuringia, furthermore there is information about the degree of difficulty, the quality of the paths as well as reference to other publications. Naturally, the signposting is also illustrated and there are tips about the most important sights, overnight accommodation and traffic connections. On the map routes are also marked that make a connection between the long-distance cycle paths or lead to scenic or attractive tourist places and regions.Whether Thuringian Forest, Rennsteig, southern Harz mountains or Hainich or along the numerous river valleys: in Thuringia the cycle tourists find good conditions - from family friendly to sportingly demanding. Suitable bike travel offers are to be found in the leaflet ´Experience Thuringia 2005 Actively´.
