With package offers cycle holidays along the river Main can be made with almost no preparation. Many cycle-tour operators have specialised on the Main Cycle Route and organise overnight stays, baggage transport, maps and to some extent also hire bicycles on this dream section. Cyclists on the Main Cycle Route are also offered excellent service from German Rail: a bicycle train shuttle between Aschaffenburg and Bamberg on Saturdays, Sundays and certain public holidays from April 30th till October 3rd 2005 takes along bicycles back and forth free of charge (German Rail cyclists´ hotline 01805/15 14 15 (12 ct/min.)). The clearly structured and handy leaflet ´Genussradeln on the Main-Radweg´ (Pleasurable Cycling on the Main Cycle Route) informs about special features of the Main Cycle Route and the new Service Booklet 2005 provides information on the Main Cycle Route with current tips and useful addresses and information; obtainable from the Franconia Tourism Association.
