Original offer for cycle tourists: Bentheim County now offers active holiday-makers and day-trippers the opportunity to cover single stages of their tours of discovery by bus. The so-called „Fietsenbus“ (bicycle bus) can be used by cyclist plus bicycle. It concerns conspicuously designed buses of the Bentheim County Transport Company (VGB), that tow special bicycle trailers. The „Fietsenbus“ frequents the route 100 between Bad Bentheim and Emlichheim. „Thereby we increase the sphere of activity of active holiday-makers and strengthen our image as a cycle tourist destination“, explains Manuela Westhuis, Managing Director of the Bentheim County Tourism Association (FVV). The attractiveness of public transport is increased at the same time.
