Whoever wants to discover Saxony-Anhalt by bicycle, will find suitable route recommendations in the actualized and considerably extended 2005 booklet ´Cycle Touring in Saxony-Anhalt´. The booklet is published by the State Marketing Saxony-Anhalt Ltd (LMG) supported by the Federal Ministry for Traffic, Construction and Housing and the State Ministry for Construction and Traffic of Saxony-Anhalt. On 56 pages the handy booklet provides information on more than 16 transregional cycle touring routes in Saxony-Anhalt, including the Elbe Cycle Route, the Altmark Circuit and the Saale Cycle Route. The Aller Cycle Route, the Berlin-Leipzig Cycle Route and the Sky Disc Cycle Route are introduced for the first time. The latter route leads from the find-spot of the Sky Disc near Nebra to the State Museum of Prehistory in Halle, where one can view the original of the famous Sky Disc until May 22nd 2005. New is moreover the extensive service section with 17 suggestions for cycle trips in the region of Saxony-Anhalt and information on bicycle hire, cyclist friendly accommodation, events as well as “Tours by Rail and Bike”.
