Let’s go to the Southern Black Forest Nature Park! Thanks to the new signposting with blue symbols on a yellow background mountain bikers find their way easily over ´stick and stone´ even without additional maps. Closed circuits are a thing of the past, with the help of routes linked into a network one can plan one’s own individual tour. Or just spontaneously decide on the way how to proceed: shorter or longer, leisurely through the vineyards or on steep trails up to the Black Forest peaks, on forest paths through shady terrain next to gurgling brooks or through long sunlit valleys. There are even specially acknowledged MTB places in the Black Forest and bike parks with their own mountain-bike houses, the so-called Bike Inns. At junctions main signposts can be found with detailed information on direction, distances and destination. There are signposts with details on levels of difficulty at crossroads. Finally, there are special signposts for dangerous or critical spots. By the way, the total length of the mountain-bike route network in the southern Black Forest amounts to an impressive 2,100 kilometres. Rating: perfect!
