If you are very sporty, you could certainly cycle the 135 kilometres of the Munich Cycle Ring in one day – however you shouldn’t. Take your time for this nature and culture trip around the Bavarian metropolis. Quiet countryside like the Amper meadows or sights like the baroque Schloss Schleissheim or Gruenwald Castle in the Isar valley are not for people who are in a hurry. Also, a proper snack in a shady beer garden or the jump into one of the many swimming lakes need time. You can start the 120 to 135 kilometre (depending on the variant) circuit at any one of the many suburban train stations. Frequently, but unfortunately not always, the route runs away from the main roads. There are mountains, but only on the horizon. Despite the altogether functional – though not up to ADFC standards – signposting, a little sense of direction is required occasionally. Then king is, whoever carries the map or guide to the cycle ring with him.
