The Thermal Route is the logical continuation of the Austrian Thermenradweg, labelled R12, and of the route along the river Mura, called Murradweg. Both finish in Bad Radkersburg. It is meant as the main cycling connection or ´highway´ between thermal centres in the region, and between Austria and Hungary. It provides safe and comfortable cycling in both directions, and it is a great starting-point for the other thematic routes. In the cycling guide The Thermal Route is described from the Austrian direction. The ones who intend to start from the opposite direction, will have to read from the end to the start. The Thermal Route is intentionally mostly flat, you can get only a taste of the hilly Country Park Gori?ko - a must for everyone. We wish The Thermal Route to serve mainly as the main transversal over the region. We surely hope that you will visit other parts of our unique region which stand out by their beauty perhaps even more. |
