The Golden Ring of Russia (the region south-east from Moscow) is the most famous tour route in the heart of Russia. It goes through the old Russian towns: Vladimir, Suzdal, Jaroslavl, Kostroma, Uglich and others known for their ancient history and architecture. You will see the beautiful Russian countryside and Volga River, magnificent orthodox churches and monasteries. In addition to cycling, a special culture program is waiting for you. You will have several meetings with village dwellers and dinners that local Russians cook for you from their home grown products. These are unlike anything have ever tested. We will visit a Russian bath house ("banya"), and many museums and art exhibits.
In full-supported tour you can choose your daily cycling distance to make it longer or shorter than the distance between cities, indicated in the Itinerary. If you prefer a slower ride and shorter daily mileage, a sag wagon will wait for you at appointed places along the route. Experienced riders will check up on you in case of difficulties. Faster riders can cover optional side trips to see more sights. Rest days are devoted to sightseeing.
