Fernando Carvalho is an ex pro-cyclist; he won the Tour of Portugal in 1990 and has competed all over the world in various pro-teams. He retired in 1996 and now runs a semi-professional cycling team with his brother Alberto. They teamed up with Charlie Cutler, a Brit living in Portugal, to set up Fernando Carvalho Training Tours, having organised similar trips on an informal basis for several years.
