| The Uckermark in Brandenburg is the most sparsely populated region in Germany. Typical is its characteristic ice age landscape of extensive lakes and seemingly endless forests and meadows. On the 260 kilometre, opened in 2006 Uckermark Circular Cycle Route cyclists gain an all-around impression of the ancient nature. Time and again the circular route crosses different long-distance cycle routes in the region: Oder-Neisse Cycle Route, Berlin - Usedom Cycle Route, Berlin - Copenhagen Cycle Route, Mecklenburg Lakes Cycle Route, Tour Brandenburg and Ice Age Route Mecklenburg Lakes Plateau. The start is in Stolpe on the river Oder. From here the smiley on the Uckermark logo continuously shows the way via Templin and Lychen, the „town between the seven lakes”, to Boitzenburg, Prenzlau and finally Schwedt. A stop is worthwhile for example at Angermünde: In this town, with its lovely old town centre, a strict demolition ban prevails. At the same time also an excursion to the nearby NABU-Nature Experience Centre in Blumberg mill presents itself. At Templin cyclists can cycle along the completely preserved town wall with Gothic brick gateways; tired legs find relaxation in the thermal brine health spa or in the Western-style town El Dorado Templin. Tip: On the TMU homepage the brochure „Radtouren für Entdecker“ [Bike Tours for Discoverers] is ready to download for free. Here cyclists find a contact partner and info on the Uckermark Circular Cycle Route as well as further tours in the Uckermark.
