| 9th Edition of Bimbinbici Paolo Brosio, well-know Italian journalist and anchorman, is the testimonial of the 9th edition of Bimbinbici, the nation day of safe and sustainable mobility for children promoted by FIAB, which will take place on May 11th 2008 in the streets closed to traffic of hundreds of Italian cities. The initiative, which last year saw about 100.000 children accompanied by their parents or teachers on their bikes, is considered the most important national event for educating children to use the bicycle in the elementary schools. Through the Bimbinbici project, which foresees also laboratories and creative activities in preparation of the one-day event, FIAB wants to draw the attention of the public and the authorities on the need to rethink the mobility of all road-users - which at present revolves only around the car -, but especially of children, requesting measures so that they can cycle safely to school. Further information on www.fiab-onlus.it. 21st FIAB National Cicloraduno This year's 21st Cicloraduno, which is open to all FIAB's and ECF's members, will take place in Varese from June 19th to June 22nd. This edition is a part of the « Bike Network » project, a strategic plan to develop a cross-border cycle network thorugh Lombardy and Switzerland, which is financed by the EU P.I.C. Interreg IIIA Structural Funds. It offers a chance to better discover and enjoy Italy by bicycle in a friendly context and with local guides. The four days with bike tours for every type of cyclists will be devoted to discovering landscapes, natural, historical and art sites, as well to socializing and making new friends.
