The Friedensroute [Peace Route] between Münster and Osnabrück is „Radroute des Jahres 2008 in NRW“ [Cycle Route of the Year 2008 in NRW]. The 170 kilometre round route leads from Münster via Greven, Tecklenburg, Hagen to Osnabrück, and back via Bad Laer and Telgte to Münster. Here during the peace negotiations of the Thirty Years War dispatch-riders chased back and forth with messages. The Peace Route convinced by an easy route and uniform, clearly visible signposting. Along the route await numerous small places with historic town centres, sights as well as cycle-friendly stop-off possibilities.
