The Altmühl valley and the Anlauter valley are now joined by a romantic cycle route: The sixteen kilometre tour leads from Eichstätt onto the Jura plateau and demands from the cyclists the only big climb on the route. Having reached the top it continues leisurely through small villages and past the typical Jura quarries. A small detour near Erkertshofen leads to a reconstructed stone Limes watchtower, the only one of its kind in Bavaria. A descent leads down to Titting. With the new link arise various possibilities for tour planning - for instance from Titting onward to Kinding or the medieval town of Weißenburg. Cycle holidaymakers who prefer a fixed location will particularly benefit from this new section of cycle route.
