Admiring interesting and lovingly well-tended gardens along 146 kilometres: This is possible on the Dream Garden Round Tour with its smallholder, baroque, palace, dyer, cloister and rose gardens. It starts in Bramsche at the Clothmakers’ Museum in whose garden grow the historical dyeing plants woad (blue), weld (yellow) and madder (red). The three hectare English style garden of Ippenburg Castle is a visitor magnet. A visit to Meyer's box-tree farm in Brockhausen is also rewarding. About 400 fuchsia types find space in the garden of the couple Ehlert in Bad Essen, Wittlage Castle is just next-door. Kuhn's garden is located in Driehausen nearby the Hünenburg restaurant. This 4,000 square metre private garden contains many beautiful and rare plants (arrange a viewing appointment). Who wants to see Dahl's vegetable and ornamental garden in Darpvenne turns left into the Knostweg. In addition to several more gardens, a visit to the Kalkriese Museum, which impressively documents the Varus Battle in 9 AD, is also worthwhile. The Dream Garden Tour with its rose logo leads on past Barenaue Castle, the show garden of the garden tree nursery Igel, Kieskamp’s smallholder garden and Mörker’s rose garden, and ends in Bramsche.
