Exquisite landscapes, simple or more demanding tours, a healthy climate and a network of well-built cycle paths - the Southwest offers everything that makes a cyclist’s heart beat faster. The now published and revised map brochure „Radler-paradiese bequem erfahren“ („Experience Cyclists’ Paradises in Comfort”) from the Tourism Marketing Ltd Baden-Württemberg (TMBW) is particularly aimed at two-wheeler enthusiasts who prefer to plan their legs themselves. Included are comprehensible descriptions of the 17 long-distance cycle routes signposted by the TMBW, the administrative districts and local communities of altogether 4,000 km through all regions of the Southwest. A map detail at scale 1: 375,000 informs about the course of the route, texts and information boxes about the length of legs, degree of difficulty and the suitability of the tour for children or families. The long-distance cycle route network in Baden-Württemberg was ridden and checked by the German Cycling Federation e.V. on behalf of the TMBW. The long-distance cycle routes are signposted throughout the land and usually follow quiet back roads or made-up forest and farm tracks or purpose-built cycle paths through the most charming areas of Baden-Württemberg. The map itself is conceived as a general map at a slightly smaller scale and can and shall not replace comprehensive cycle touring guides and detailed geographical maps.
