Thousands of people are expected to cycle to Brussels on Bicycity next Sunday, May 18, making a clear statement for more space for cycling in the Belgian capital. How this limited public space should be ideally allocated was already demonstrated last week during a press event: Three lanes for cyclists, one for cars. The picture was taken at Rue de la Loi/ Wetstraat, one of the most congested roads in the city. For BicyCity, highways and tunnels will be open to cyclists. Last year, the event draw 10,000 participants.
